Little Goodbyes Press is currently seeking Canadian-based translators and language adapters to help us create multilingual editions of our children’s books.
We aim to collaborate with translators who understand not just language, but tone, cultural nuance, and how to adapt stories meaningfully for young readers and their families. Most of our books are aimed at toddlers and early readers, with a focus on warm storytelling, inclusivity, and read-aloud flow.
We’re currently prioritizing French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Russian, and German as these are the anguages that align with our active translation pipeline and readership. We’re also open to Canadian translators working in other languages used in schools, libraries, and multilingual homes, including Farsi, Tagalog, Ukrainian, and Arabic.
We recognize that adaptations into Indigenous languages require deep cultural respect and community involvement. If you are an Indigenous language professional interested in working with us on a children's book adaptation for one of our books, we’re open to conversation and guidance on how to approach that work appropriately.
If your language isn’t listed but you see potential for a thoughtful adaptation, we’d love to hear from you.
📄 You can review our standard adaptation agreement here.
⚠️ Please note: We do not accept machine or AI-generated translations.
All adaptation work must be completed by humans, with cultural and linguistic sensitivity appropriate for young readers. While we trust our collaborators, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement if submitted work appears to be machine-generated or fails to meet our quality expectations.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, reach out via our contact form with a short introduction and any relevant experience or samples.
